I’m not going to lie: I’m still not sick of zombies. Even with all the video games, comics, movies, and TV Series, I’m still not sick of them. Not even Zombieland put me off them. And I really hated that movie. For whatever reason though, I’ve never read a single word of “The Walking Dead,” and I’ve only seen the first two episodes of the TV series (which I loved), but I was really excited when presented with the opportunity to play the new “Walking Dead,” board game, I jumped at the chance. It’s a board game based on the most successful modern zombie franchise out there, so what could go wrong?
Halloween is right around the corner, and here in South Jersey USA we’re actually getting some snow today! If you knew our typical climate, this is kind of a rarity. Does this mean I need to stop making “Winter is Coming” jokes now? Already?! Like the guy in the chainmail and wolfpelt armor is going to stop making Winterfell jokes… CMON!
Here’s what went down this past week on Perpetual Geek Machine!
We Tweeted our amazement about this new DLC yesterday. We’ve made our (OK, well maybe MY love) for train games well known so we were absolutely certain that we wanted you to watch us play through some of these new scenarios for Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 so hop on board and ride this zombie-infested train with us, won’t you?
We talked about Robert Kirkman’s excellent comic series back in Show #00003 and now you can check out the trailer for AMC’s upcoming small screen adaptation. Between Breaking Bad, Mad Men and now Rubicon, AMC has proven they know how to make some damn good TV. Let’s hope that keeps going.
Some games are meant to be epic. Some games are expected to last the entire length of game night. Then there are the fillers, the games you play between games. They last 5-10 minutes and are so short that some people use them to determine who goes first in the next non-filler game. Zombie dice is one of those games. Also, it’s awesome. (more…)
Well, I gotta say listeners this show seemed on the precipice of being lost to the digital ether there during the editing process. One of us ended up with a corrupted file after outputting and while we’re not naming names (cough, Dan) luckily a re-export cleared up the wacky problems.
That’s right, our bi-weekly show is set to record on Monday night and should hit your ears Wednesday (computer glitches notwithstanding). So what can you expect? Well our itenaries are still being worked out but I can let you in on the following…
Dan and Ryan will present their Top 5 lists of Lamest Superpowers for judgement, can Dan stay champion for the 3rd show in a row?
Also, we’ll be wrapping up our homework discussion about the fantastic comic The Walking Dead. We’re reading and talking about issues 1-12 or in trade paperback talk Vol. 1 and 2.
We also want to hear your feedback, whatever it may be. We want to hear suggestions for homework, topics for 5 hit-combo, general questions of claims that we’re all assholes. Seriously, bring it!
