You’d think that with this being our 50th podcast we’d be celebrating in some way but YO, fuck that noise. We’ve barely even started. There’s way too much geekiness that we haven’t gotten to yet so there’s no reason to prematurely congratulate ourselves on some false achievement. We’ll save all that for episode #99999.
Are you Batman too? Ryan and Dan definitely are. I’m not…yet but it seems like the rest of the gaming world was Batman last week but that’s just the first part of our show. We cover a ton of ground and do it in fine fashion. So without further ado, let’s start the show!
I’m not going to lie: I’m still not sick of zombies. Even with all the video games, comics, movies, and TV Series, I’m still not sick of them. Not even Zombieland put me off them. And I really hated that movie. For whatever reason though, I’ve never read a single word of “The Walking Dead,” and I’ve only seen the first two episodes of the TV series (which I loved), but I was really excited when presented with the opportunity to play the new “Walking Dead,” board game, I jumped at the chance. It’s a board game based on the most successful modern zombie franchise out there, so what could go wrong?
I’m going to keep this brief, since the longer and wittier this is the longer it’s going to take to go live since I need to do this at work. So, for the sake of getting this show online I’ll enact some much needed brevity.
This is our last “normal” show of the year, since next show will be taken up by us talking about the year that was… 2010. Our favorite moments, games.. whatever. But until then, let’s get on to Perpetual Geek Machine #00015!!
Welcome again everyone to another episode of Perpetual Geek Machine! It’s episode 12 which is in itself hard to get excited about since it holds no arbitrary significance to us. Of course, that doesn’t mean we don’t bring our A game… cause we most certainly do.
This show is spread all across the map in terms of topics, since we hit video games, zombie tv, keytars, board games, and deep space exploration. Enjoy the show!
I can offer you either a small treasure map that points to a chest which contains hundreds of old coins, or some show notes. Show notes? Really? I’d have expected you to choose the map. Oh well, show notes it is! (more…)
We talked about Robert Kirkman’s excellent comic series back in Show #00003 and now you can check out the trailer for AMC’s upcoming small screen adaptation. Between Breaking Bad, Mad Men and now Rubicon, AMC has proven they know how to make some damn good TV. Let’s hope that keeps going.
That’s right, our bi-weekly show is set to record on Monday night and should hit your ears Wednesday (computer glitches notwithstanding). So what can you expect? Well our itenaries are still being worked out but I can let you in on the following…
Dan and Ryan will present their Top 5 lists of Lamest Superpowers for judgement, can Dan stay champion for the 3rd show in a row?
Also, we’ll be wrapping up our homework discussion about the fantastic comic The Walking Dead. We’re reading and talking about issues 1-12 or in trade paperback talk Vol. 1 and 2.
We also want to hear your feedback, whatever it may be. We want to hear suggestions for homework, topics for 5 hit-combo, general questions of claims that we’re all assholes. Seriously, bring it!
