Along with grabbing a bunch of interviews with the great folks creating awesome content we borrowed a video camera to capture the whole thing in full motion high definition video. What I was able to pull together from the footage was a decent idea of what going to PAX East looks like in the form of somewhat shoddy handheld video, so just imagine that you’re like that asshole at a concert who spends the entire show trying to capture it on their phone instead of just enjoying the music.
Or, you could just watch this video and enjoy that. It’s up to you.
Either way, here’s the video:

In 1963 a 27 year-old Jim Henson was commissioned by AT&T to create a short film about the growing relationship between businessmen and technology. He created a little robot and infused it with more personality than any Kardashian could ever dream of having. Check it out the recently-discovered film below:
On Monday I was browsing the Steam store, as I’m wont to do on a daily basis, and saw the release of a new free-to-play game that billed itself as “The co-op fantasy mmo shooter”. How could I NOT be intrigued by that? What the hell does that mean?
Being the diligent blogger that I like to think I am I downloaded the game and gave it a whirl. Hit the jump to see a little of what you can expect from Realm Of The Mad God. (more…)
A few weeks ago I picked up the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It’s the latest and greatest Android phone, complete with version 4.0 of the operating system more commonly known as Ice Cream Sandwich. I had been patiently waiting to replace my Motorola Droid for a while and when word started spreading that the flagship Android phone would finally be hitting Verizon I knew I wanted to hold off from buying the HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Droid Charge or anything else that seemed appealing at the time.
Overall, I’ve been very pleased with everything about the phone. ICS is snappy and responsive, pretty close to being on par with iOS 5 from what I can tell. Switching between apps now seems to be everything that it was originally promised to be. I’d almost dare say that after all this time, this might finally be Android’s coming out party.
One of the things that surprised me after I got the phone was the included “Movie Studio” software. This app was released as part of the tablet-only Honeycomb 3.0 software and is making its phone debut in ICS. It’s clearly a response to the mobile version of iMovie, which is to be expected when you have too huge companies competing as fiercely as Apple and Google are. Though I have absolutely zero experience with iMovie I have plenty of experience with professional video editing software so I decided to test out Movie Studio to see what it’s all about. (more…)
Remember the great Konami vehicle game Jackal? The folks over at Avalanche Studios certainly do and they’ve taken their engine for Just Cause 2 and created a spiritual successor to that 8 bit classic. Dan, friend of the site Scott Rising and I met up online to run through one of the missions. The game is an absolute blast so be sure to check out what you can expect in the video below:
I am a big fan of the goofy-ass fun that is the GTA isn’t, Saint’s Row is. With a focus on the ridiculous amped up to eleventy bajillion my excitement for the third installment is palpable, to say the least. Luckily developer Volition has been able to temporarily satiate my frothing-at-the-mouth desire by releasing a stand alone character creator to play around with until the full game comes out on the 15th. Check out this video below to see some of what insanity you’ll find if grab it on Steam.
We Tweeted our amazement about this new DLC yesterday. We’ve made our (OK, well maybe MY love) for train games well known so we were absolutely certain that we wanted you to watch us play through some of these new scenarios for Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 so hop on board and ride this zombie-infested train with us, won’t you?
You’ve heard us talk about this game on episodes 25, 31 and 32 of our podcast and we’re all big fans of it. Since it’s a game that’s better seen than talked about we put together this little video to give you an idea of what it’s really all about.
Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments below. Would you like to see us do more of this type of video content?
