I see things like this and I can’t help but feel humbled by some peoples awesome ingenuity. These lasercut Catan tiles are supremely awesome both in a functional and artistic way. Kinda makes me wish I were still in college so I could go track down someone in the right dept. to get a set of these cut of my own.

There’s certainly an argument to be had about the ethical side of making these yourself, since in this case the creator of the game gets no money out of you owning it. It’s a conversation I see us having more and more as 3D printers and such become more a part of our lives. I’d love to be in a situation where one could “buy” the plans from the company and then cut them yourself, saving the company the money of production/distribution and I could end up with something higher quality than they would make anyways.
