Shopping for geeks at the holidays is hard, luckily we’re here to help! As nerds ourselves we know that when there’s something in stores that we want, we tend to just buy it then and there. So gauging what we could want under the tree is like trying to find oil just by throwing your shovel in the dirt.

Special show this week everyone! This is the one where we formally welcome an addition to the Geek Machine, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Rich Coonelly is a fellow geek with quite the decent pedigree. After seven previous films and boatloads of money, the Harry Potter films have come to an end with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.” This film follows Harry and his friends as they race to stop the evil Lord Voldemort from killing them and taking over the world. In similar style to the previous movies, this entry boasts great special effects, a unique universe, and, for better or worse, memorable performances. However for all that this film does right, it still suffers many of the pitfalls of previous Harry Potter films.

Us geeks do our best to let our hobbies permeate our every waking moment. We carry books in our backpacks, we play games on our phones, we talk about who’d win in a fight between Darth Vader, Spider-Man and Voldemort (it’s Voldemort BTW). On other words, we’re geeks 24/7, we’re the real fucking deal.
These items allow you to put it out there that not only are you a nerd, but you’re not going to be embarrassed about it. Take it, embrace it, hell… enjoy it!

Well, I gotta say listeners this show seemed on the precipice of being lost to the digital ether there during the editing process. One of us ended up with a corrupted file after outputting and while we’re not naming names (cough, Dan) luckily a re-export cleared up the wacky problems.
cue sigh of relief.
