We almost had to call this podcast off. On Thursday we all head up to Boston for PAX East 2012 and our excitement was coming to life in the form of extreme hyperactivity. Rich and I were running around my basement uncontrollably until Ryan reached through the internet cables through Skype and shook the hyper out of us. Luckily we were able to calm down long enough to get this show on tape. Err…I mean hard drive.

The real-life motorsport that is rally racing is a wholly unique experience that’s not widely known in these United States. Mostly confined to Europe you’ll find offroad point-to-point racing where the drivers compete for the fastest time during a stage. The cars start individually at preset intervals to allow the cars general free-use of the courses that aren’t built to allow a large number of cars to run at the same time. The stage times accumulate to an overall time that determines the winner. Boardgames like Formula D have already tackled the world of Formula 1 racing and PGM favorite Snow Tails adapted a similar tabletop formula for the world of dog sled racing. Today we’re looking at Rallyman to see how well they’ve brought rally to a tabletop near you. (more…)
