Top 5 Things of 2012: The Dan Zuccarelli Edition!

2012_2009_01

We here at Perpetual Geek Machine think life as a nerd has been pretty spectacular in 2012. Great movies, games, tv shows and more. We’ve made friends with Nicole Kline, and then put her to work writing here! Rich got engaged, Dan bought a house. There’s a good chance Ryan and/or Bryan did something adorably Canadian. Kevin spent most of the year brewing beer and Adam made it through the latest Mayan apocalypse mostly unscathed!

Just like last year to celebrate the end of this trip round the sun we got together to run down our top 5 favorite things of the year. We then presented those during part 1 of our spectacular year end podcast. In part 2 of that podcast we whittle out lists down to a Top 5 to represent the site as a whole, and then 1 singular item that is Perpetual Geek Machine’s favorite thing of 2012. Last year The Muppets was our winner. What will take the crown this year? Listen to the podcast to find out!

Another Friday, another Perpetual Geek Machine podcast!

It’s Part 2 of our big Year-End Spectacular! If you listened to last week’s podcast you know that we introduced all of our individual Top 5 Things Of 2012 and then widdled that huge list down to 10 different things that we’re going to cull into our site-wide Top 5 and then pick one of those 5 to represent Perpetual Geek Machine’s Top Thing of 2012.

The debate sounds a bit heated at times, but man, do we love doing this show. It’s tough to argue varying degrees of awesome, but we always look forward to the task.

The Geekly, PGM’s Weekly Report of Cool Geek Things (12/27/12)

kids.dnd.sheets.daughterofhulabaloo

Hello, my dear geeky readers! I hope that, wherever you are, you are enjoying some time off for the holidays. If you’re near Philadelphia, then you’re also enjoying this freezing cold slushy rain that I just know really wants to be snow. Come on, slushy rain! You can do it! Just a few degrees colder…

Anyway! Let’s talk about what I’ve seen in the last week that hit me right in my geeky bone. I’m fairly certain I’ve already mentioned the Mechromancer hoody Gearbox is selling, but there’s also a great Borderlands Vault Hunter sweatshirt over at Shirtasaurus. They’ve got plenty of cute t-shirts there, too, including Hello Stormtrooper, Playkachu, and 1,000 Needles. And let’s not forget the Ask Me about My Facehugger shirt at Amazon. I think I might need that.

Another Friday, another Perpetual Geek Machine podcast!

It’s time for our big Year-End Spectacular! 2012 turned out to be a pretty great year for all things geeky. We had a great time making up our lists when we weren’t getting too sad about cutting things. Just like last year we included all forms of media/everything in our discussion and almost all of us are on board to discuss it.

This is the first of two podcasts that we dedicate to naming our lists and widdling them down. So be sure to check back next week for the conclusion!

Welcome to another exciting edition of the Geekly! This week, I’ve got some cool stories, as well as quirky things you can purchase on the Internet (just in time for the holidays), and, as always, some references to Studio Ghibli.

Let’s start with the cool things you can adorn your body with! Local artist Sean Martorana has an amazing store filled with his artwork on t-shirts. Check out his goodies, which are swapped out monthly. Shirt.woot has their top twenty tees of all time up for sale until December 17, including one of my favorite t-shirts ever, Fresh Cake! Top your outfit off with a Stark sibling hoody, and you are ready to go.
