Yesterday we posted our last podcast of the year, in which each of us presented our top 5 things of 2011. From that we then came up with a group of items and debated which things we should have represent Perpetual Geek Machine for 2011. We decided to eschew a standard top 5 list and instead pick one singular thing, and then have runner-ups in no particular order.
It was one of our finest shows to date and combined all 5 of the main writers here on the site! I can’t recommend it enough, and would love it if you listen and if you like it please share it with your friends.
But if you don’t want to listen, or you’d just like to read the results please join us after the break for our individual lists as well as our choice for Perpetual Geek Machine Thing of 2011!

This is our last podcast of the year so we’re going out with a bang! Our newest writer Bryan Wall joins us for the first time as we have the entire crew together to count down our Top 5 Favorite Things of 2011 and single one of them out as the very first Coolest Thing Of The Year (that name is not official nor permanent). Make sure to chime in below in the comments to let us know what your personal favorite are!
Here’s the link to give Perpetual Geek Machine: Show #00041 a listen!

If there’s anything I’ve learned from the two games that served as my introduction into the World Beyond Monopoly of board games (Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne) it’s that I love building cities and civilizations with tiles. Maybe it’s the Lego-lover in me that loves using pieces free form to build something bigger, I don’t know. I guess it makes sense that I also love trying to destroy island villages via lava fire tiles. Such is the case in Eruption by Status Games.

I don’t how how it started, but yesterday at work there was a, let’s say spirited discussion of who the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is. Most people said Michelangelo. And guess what? Those people were dead wrong.
It’s common knowledge that Raphael is the best of the turtles. If you disagree then I’m sorry to tell you that you’ve been misinformed. To prove my point I’m listing his wallpaper here first, with the rest of the clan after the break. So yea, I’ve even got you Donatello fans covered. Both of you.
Just click the images to get at the full size, then save accordingly!
BTW, we have over 70 Perpetually Geeky wallpapers just waiting to be downloaded over at our Facebook page. You should totally visit us and give us a “like!”

It’s a comforting feeling when a movie delivers exactly what you would expect from it. The world just seems to make more sense when the villain gets what he deserves, the guy gets the girl, and the killer comes back for one last scare. However, there is something to be said about breaking away from what is expected and venturing into the unexpected. “Rubber” is a movie about a sentient car tire that discovers it has the telekinetic ability to blow up peoples’ heads. Cool, right? However, rather than being mindless B-movie schlock, “Rubber” is actually a commentary on B-movies in general and the audiences that watch them. As interesting as that might have been, I wish “Rubber” had been more about exploding heads and been less of a David Lynch mindfuck.
