Intro Start – 4:51
What’cha Been Doing? 4:52 – 40:52
- Kevin kicks it off by cluing us into some browser game goodness in the form of Lord of Ultima. It really doesn’t look much like the Ultima games we grew up with, but hey… it runs in your browser! Over the weekend Kevin and Dan got together with their respective wives and indulged in the deduction board game Mystery Express, which had a full review go up on the site on Monday.
- Dan continued the tabletop talk with a small primer on Monsterpocalypse with the recent addition of Voltron figures to this popular miniatures game. For the price you get a ton of shit in the box, and it’s enough for two players to play a complete game with, no having to buy extra stuff unless you want to! Over on the video game side of things Dan talks up Lego Rock Band and Limbo, one’s for kids and the other one is a creepy nightmare/dream puzzler. Try to guess which is which!
- Ryan thinks he’s found the best way to play Monkey Island (and the rest of the LucasArts games) and it’s…. on an iPad! I must say he makes some good arguments. He also went through the trials and hoops to play some Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker online and also tried to clue the rest of us in to the validity of HBO’s True Blood. Not an easy task.
Geek Spew 40:53 – 1:01:26
- Dan very briefly mentions the hate filled protest that for some reason happened outside the San Diego Comic-Con. Why’s this important? Cause our beloved nerd compatriots held the best counter protest ever, and had signs that we can both be proud of and laugh at. Good job guys!
- The meat and potatoes of this week’s Geek Spew is a conversation mostly between Kevin and Ryan about the pricing structure for the coming 3D/Full Body gaming nonsense that is the Move and Kinect. Microsoft and Sony both got their PR people in a tizzy and released respective bullshit-o-matic charts, but both pale in comparison the the chart made byKevin himself!!
5 Hit Combo! 1:01:27 – 1:28:14 (Two of us battle for supremacy as we compare and debate our Top 5 lists. The winner plays again the next show, while the loser can only sit and judge as a new challenger appears! Play along with us, choose who you think does a better job.)
- Top 5 things today’s teenagers have no idea bout but shout dammit! (Hey you kids gif offa my lawn!!!)
- Ryan vs. Dan, Kevin judging. I think this was our best yet!
- Next Topic: Top 5 movies that don’t have games on them but should!
Homework 1:28:15 – 1:38:41
- This week we recap and discuss Deathspank, the Ron Gilbert/Hothead made game that combines action-rpg and adventure games. How is it?
- Next homework assignment: new">Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. In light of the recent announcement that Joss Whedon is directing the Avengers movie, we look at the internet sensation musical that’s still taking the world by storm!
Sound off in the comments on and let us know what you think of the show!

Freaking fantastic. I loved listening to this 5 Hit Combo. Those are all things I know I’ll never do but sound like they were memorable experiences.
Also love listening to your board game talks. Even though I would never spend money on those things, you guys make them sound so interesting.
